Statement:

I have been the headteacher at Sturton by Stow Primary School since January 2016, having previously been the headteacher at a very small primary school. I enjoy leading our wonderful school and striving for excellence in everything we do. It is a privilege to work with a dedicated and supportive staff and a governing body who want every child in our school to achieve the very best they can.

Type of Governor: Local Authority

Record of attendance in 2022/2023: 8/8

Statement:

am a co-opted Governor for the Local Authority at the primary school and am also a parent with a child who currently attends.  I live locally to school and have been a resident in Sturton by Stow since 2000.  I sit on the school’s finance committee, as well as the full governing board.

Away from the school I have a working background in the Private, Public and Third Sector of over 25 years, where around 20 of these were supporting skills and training programmes, as well as economic development and regeneration schemes in Lincolnshire and the wider midlands area.   I am also a Trustee and Director of LIVES.

I hope my skill set and experience can bring something valuable to the Governors and school, particularly making sure that children are listened to, and know that their voices are important and will make a difference. This includes ensuring the school is flexible and supports every child’s needs both educationally and where extra SEND support is required.

Mrs Kirsty Pell

Statement: My children have recently started at the school so we are at the start of their education journey. In the short time that my children have been at the school though, I have been struck by the sense of community within the school, I am keen to help to support this, to help the school to grow even more and for all pupils to have an enjoyable and fulfilling time whilst at our school. I work in Finance in Local Government, so I try to use my professional experience to fulfil my role as a governor.

Mrs Heather Allmond

Date of appointment: 21/09/23

Type of Governor: Co-Opted

Record of attendance in 2022/2023: N/A

Statement:

I was previously a parent governor at SbS from 2016-2021 and have just come back as a co-opted governor. I have two children at the school and an older daughter who attended SbS before moving onto secondary school. I work in the NHS as a midwife with additional roles in quality improvement, lecturing and with the parliamentary health ombudsman. I have always found that the skills I've developed at work have lent themselves well to school governance. However, my top priority is always ensuring that pupils - and people in general - have equal and fair opportunities and support.
