We are delighted to have a wonderful team of Reading Ambassadors who help to support reading in school. Their role includes, looking after the little lending library, helping at library club and promoting reading for pleasure across school. They have lots of exciting plans for this academic year.

One of the many ways we promote reading across school is through our Birthday Books Scheme. Each year FOSSA, our parents support association, kindly donates money to the school to purchase a collection of exciting new books. During our birthday books assembly, children get to choose one of these books as a special gift in celebration of their birthday month. Our reading ambassadors play an important role preparing the books for the assemblies and supporting the children in making the choices on the day.

Our reading record rewards scheme celebrates children's dedication to reading both at home and at school. Children receive a reward when they complete a certain number of entries in their reading record. These entries help to share information about the books they are reading and enjoying with adults across school.
Our reading ambassadors help to promote this initiative by visiting different classrooms, reading with the children, and supporting them with their reading record entries. The ambassadors were especially proud to see the first groups of children across school receiving their first sticker rewards!
