Welcome to week 2 of your home learning!
On this page you will find a daily English and Maths activity, we will have covered everything on these already in our class learning, so hopefully nothing will be a massive surprise to you! Most of the work shall be worksheet based, either print these out and stick into your home learning book, or write them up as best you can in your books, that way all your home learning is kept organised in one place!
You will also find here a project based around our learning in class, about the famous explorer Ernest Shackleton and the amazing continent he voyaged across - Antarctica! I would like you to complete at least one of the tasks on this project sheet, so we can share them when we're all back in class together!
Maths Home Learning
This week for your maths home learning there shall be a focus on addition and subtraction questions. At the start of the week, you shall be revisiting the strategies to calculate these questions and towards the end of the week moving on to multi-step problems, which may need more than one strategy to answer!
English Home Learning
This week, for English home learning there shall be a variety of activities, including grammar, writing and reading comprehension.
In the reading comprehension activity it uses VIPERS -just like we do in class-, remember how to answer each question with a full sentence, and think about the skill it is asking you to complete. Is it a custard cream retrieval? Or crumbs of biscuits for inference?
If you are unsure of any of the terminology (especially on the grammar sheets), BBC Bitesize KS2 Grammar resources are really useful and often have a great cartoon video to help you understand it easily!
Ernest Shackleton Project!
On this document, there are a variety of activities based around this famous explorer! There is also a PDF poster from National Geographic Kids, which has some amazing polar facts on
Where can I look for help? What if I need more to do?
Below, I have created a document showing some really useful websites to continue your learning! These websites will help you to secure your learning in what we've already covered this year, or discover something completely new!
