Home Learning Week Commencing 11.05.20

Welcome to your home learning this week!

Hi everyone, missing you all loads! I hope you've got on well with your learning last week, and also enjoyed the bank holiday sunshine!

On this page you will find a daily English and Maths activity, we will have covered everything on these already in our class learning, so hopefully nothing will be a surprise to you!

Most of the work shall be worksheet based, either print these out and stick into your home learning book, or write them up as best you can in your books, that way all your home learning is kept organised in one place!

On this page you shall also find three projects!

As well as our ongoing projects of Charanga and Living Things and Their Habitats, we have also got a new project all about The Vikings! There's lots of creative activities to have a go at and research!

Please remember to keep accessing TTRocks and Spelling Shed to keep up the amazing work you have already done!

Remember if there is anything you are unsure about, or would like to show me some of your amazing work- I'd love to see it! Please email: Lancasters@sturton-by-stow.lincs.sch.uk

Maths Home Learning!

This week we shall be re-visiting perimeter and area of 2D shapes, most of this work is worksheet based, when printing some shapes may measure slightly differently. When working through Wednesday's PowerPoint the answers are on the next slide, try and work it out first then check your answer! If you're not sure, check the answer first then go back and look at how it has been worked out.

These two BBC Bitesize clips are really useful just in case you have forgotten which is which!

Perimeter: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvmxsbk/articles/zsr4k7h

Area: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zjbg87h/articles/zwqt6fr

These videos give a basic overview, in Lancasters I would like you to be more precise by measuring, if you find multiplying by decimals (for area) a bit tricky, round to the nearest whole number.

English Home Learning!

I know during this lockdown I’ve been dreaming of doing lots of traveling and where I would like my first holiday to be, where I can jet off and explore a brand-new place. This gave me some inspiration for this weeks English! This week- for Monday to Thursday - we shall be looking at descriptive travel writing!

On Friday, you shall have a reading comprehension task, remember to use your VIPERS skills that we've worked really hard on already this year!

Projects!

Below are serval documents showing our three ongoing projects, these focus on the Vikings, Charanga Music lessons and Living Things and Their Habitats. A lot of these activities are really practical and fun to complete. Remember to send me any pictures of things you have created to:

Lancasters@sturton-by-stow.lincs.sch.uk

I'd really love to see what you have created!

Where can I look for help? What if I need more to do?

Below, I have created a document showing some really useful websites to continue your learning! These websites will help you to secure your learning in what we've already covered this year, or discover something completely new!
